the Air Force does not endorse, nor recommend the IHS Haystack and NSN-NOW services or its products.  It is one of many fee-for service research providers available to the commercial market place.  The IHS Haystack and NSN-NOW research tools can be used to search procurement data by National Stock Number (NSN) or Part Number
tabSupply Chain Risk Management (SCRM)
  • Deploy standard risk assessment methods and procedures across the AFGLSC
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate critical supply chain risks
  • Align procurement strategies with risks by incorporating SCRM into Supplier Relationship Management, source selection and contract management
tabDiminishing Manufacturing Sources & Material Shortages (DMSMS)
  • The AF DMSMS program seeks to proactively manage obsolescence issues in order to improve supply chain support to the warfighter. As the air fleet increases in age the thousands of components and parts that make up these aircraft become increasingly harder to acquire. By utilizing a predictive tool and performing analyses on identified parts we are able to both proactively (Loading and reviewing Bills of Materials during the acquisition phase) and reactively (Reviewing parts/components in existing Bills of Materials) address obsolescence issues.
  • The Shared Data Warehouse (SDW) Air Force Module is a program for the identification and management of obsolescence issues.  SDW is a web-based application leveraging existing information, data resources, and business processes; providing all three Air Logistics Centers with a single point to submit Life of Type buys received from DLA.
