Upgraded tickets

While Star Spangled Salute is free to attend, the Afterburner Chalet caters to guests looking for an upgraded air show experience. With an exclusive lounge and private seating, fans can relax and have front row access to view the Thunderbirds staging area. 

A ticket to the Chalet also comes with coffee and light breakfast snacks from 10 to 11 a.m., a private bar including complimentary beer and wine from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., a full lunch buffet, afternoon snacks and activities for children. There’s limited capacity in the Chalet, but guests can purchase their tickets ahead of time to guarantee a spot. Starting May 6, ticket prices will increase by $10. They will increase an additional $10 on May 19.

Food and drink concessions will be available at various locations through the air show area and free water will be available to the public at marked stations.

A Kid Zone with inflatables and activities will be available all day with the purchase of a wrist band.

The Tinker Air Force Base Star Spangled Salute Air Show is open to the public and admission is free.

driving and parking

As you approach Tinker Air Force Base from Interstate 40 or I-240, look for signs directing you to the entrance. Parking and shuttles from the parking areas are free.

Driving from the west side of the base to the east side will be restricted. 

Public Entry Points/Parking: On the south end of installation, Bldg. 9001 (the old General Motors Plant off of SE 74th Street) will have access points open to enter into the parking area south of Bldg. 9001. On the east side, Hruskocy and Lancer Gates will be open for public entry into parking lots north and east of Bldg. 3001.

Authorized personnel can enter through the Tinker, Vance and Gott Gates. Personnel can park at the 72nd Medical Group, Bldg. 1094, and take the free shuttle to the event area. 

Shuttles from Bldgs. 1094 and 9001 will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
