April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Tinker’s Sexual Assault Response Prevention office is raising public awareness and educating our community in a new innovative way, with the SAPR Brain Buster.

Inspired by an Army SAPR training escape room, Capt. Gabriel Malasig, deputy sexual assault response coordinator with the 72nd Air Base Wing, got creative and developed the SAPR Brain Buster, a portable time-bound adventure game. The game consists of a series of puzzles testing team members’ knowledge on SAPR resources and reporting options.

“We wanted to create a game that is both educational and engaging,” said Malasig. “If you have prior knowledge of SAPR and remember your training, you can get through it a little bit quicker, but it is a game for everyone. Players can learn as they go.”

Units at Tinker can call the SAPR office at and block a one to two hour session for the interactive training.

The SAPR office focuses on the prevention of sexual assault through education, training, victim advocacy, response, reporting and accountability. To get support from a sexual assault response coordinator or victim advocate, call the 24-hour help line at (405) 734-7272.
