Tinker Club has many activities planned this month

TINKER AIR FORCE BASE -- Though it is still chilly outside, February is going to be hot, hot, hot at the Tinker Club. There is so much going on that it would be a shame to miss all the fun.
   Just this month, there will be lots of money given away, delicious food, music, hard hitting competitions and, yes, even a little romance.
   The fun starts at tonight with the $500 cash giveaway. Everyone who has collected tickets through January is invited out tonight to put those tickets in the hopper for the chance to win the cash. The drawing will be at 6 p.m.
   Everyone is invited to the club for Super Bowl Sunday! Come out Sunday and visit with friends while waiting to see if the New England Patriots can continue their perfect ways or if the New York Giants can pull off the upset. A super chili cook-off will be held during the game and the best part about that is getting to eat all the entries. Anyone who wishes to enter may either cook on site in their own crock pot or bring in the chili. There is a 5-pound minimum to enter so there is enough to go around. There will be prizes for the best chili, first through third places and crowd favorite.
   Texas Hold 'Em will be played Tuesday with a higher prize payout. Prizes are $500, $300 and $200, respectively. An entertainment fee of $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers will be charged and that does include food. Texas Hold 'Em is played at 6 p.m. every Tuesday. On regular nights, the entertainment fee is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers with payouts of $75, $50 and $25.
   Reservations are being taken now for one of the most romantic nights of the year -- Valentine's Day, Feb. 14. The Valentine Dinner starts at 6 p.m. and will consist of baby mixed green salad, entree choice of slow smoked prime rib of beef, braised bacon wrapped chicken breast or five-spice lamb, La Baguette dessert station and complimentary wine. The cost is $50 per member couple and $60 for nonmember couples. Reservations are required by Feb. 12 and can be made by calling 734-3418.
