Constance "Becci" Roe has been selected as the 2007 Air Force Materiel Command Provider of the Year.
Ms. Roe has the distinction of being the only Tinker Family Child Care provider to be named Provider of the Year both in 2003 and 2006. She is also the only Department of Human Services contracted provider on Tinker to have been awarded a three-star facility rating -- the highest rating -- by the state of Oklahoma.
Since 2001, Ms. Roe has developed a great rapport with her children and their families. She not only strives to make each child feel loved, but also embraces and incorporates all of her daycare families into her own.
"Education is vital in preparing children to achieve success in all endeavors," Ms. Roe said. "My goal is to instill a love of learning and a desire for constant knowledge within each child."
Parents responding to a recent survey gave her the highest scores possible and provided wonderful comments such as "gratitude," "best provider" and "outstanding quality of service." The recurring theme from all surveys was praise for how she made them all feel like "one of the family" and her passion for quality child care.
Recently, Ms. Roe was awarded a Certificate of Mastery by the Scholar's for Excellence Program through Rose State College. The Center for Early Childhood Professional Development recently awarded her the highest level of achievement on their Oklahoma Registry Professional Develop-ment Ladder.
The registry recognizes individuals who meet or exceed training goals for quality child care. And, her program has been accreditited by the National Association for Family Child Care since 2003, a benchmark of a quality FCC provider and home.
"Her commitment to personal growth in the Early Childhood Profession is evident by the vast amount of training she enthusiastically pursues," said Vickie Trahan, Family Member Support Flight chief. "She takes full advantage of every training opportunity to continually infuse her curriculum with learning experiences that are creative, fun and educational for the children."
Her home is open 24 hours a day, seven days per week. She is the go-to person for all types of special child care situations including permanent changes of station, night, shift, weekend, volunteer, respite, emergency and special needs care -- any care that supports families and the Air Force mission.
