Could you be a safety hero?

TINKER AIR FORCE BASE -- Inline with Tinker's continued commitment to excellence in safety, the Oklahoma City Air Logistic Center Safety Office is looking for Tinker Air Force Base Safety Heroes. A Safety Hero will be recognized monthly in the Tinker Take Off with a picture and brief description of the outstanding action.
   The safety office is in search of personnel who go above and beyond the call of duty to prevent potential accidents or those who prevent loss of life or injury following an accident.
   "We are trying to change the behavioral culture of personnel in conjunction with the Voluntary Protection Program. In this way, we are looking out for one another as wingmen," said Donald Chambers, OC-ALC chief of ground safety.
   Any flight commander or equivalent can submit a nomination form to the OC-ALC safety office at
   Nominators must submit the Air Force Form 1206 and include the nominee's name, organization, rank or grade, duty and job title along with a brief, unclassified description of the outstanding safety actions.

   Nominations must be received within six months after the action was accomplished.
   The safety office will begin accepting submissions Aug. 1 and a Safety Hero will be selected for September.
