For Single-Face, the term "Business Development" refers to setting up and managing strategic relationships and alliances with all aerospace associated business.  With focus on our capabilities and capacities we identify, research, analyze and bring new business, new products and new technologies to the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center.

tabCBO About Us
We evaluate potential business  opportunities utilizing these questions:
  • Where are we now? - The strategic analysis of the business and its operating environment.
  • Where do we want to go? - The process of defining strategic objectives.
  • Where do we need additional work? - Identifying strategic needs and capacities
  • What value will additional work add? - New technologies and the development of strategic relationships
  • Will this be a partnering or inter-service arrangement? - Civilian aerospace companies or Military entities (i.e. Army, Navy, Marines).

We follow on with more tactical issues:
  • Who will be my "Champion" for additional workload? - Our "hand-off" to workload Program Manager.
  • What policies will be needed or developed? - Examine personnel staffing implications of the activities.
  • What resources will be needed to get there? - Legal, funds, manpower and equipment.
Our "pipeline" refers to a flow of potential clients or partners that we have began developing. Single-Face assigns each potential opportunity in the pipeline a chance of success in a percentage format, utilizing a checklist. We support pipelines with an in-house system. Business development manages and analyzes the data to produce management information (MI). Such MI could include:

· reasons for wins/losses
· progress of opportunities in relation to the process
· performance in process channels
· service before production
