On Sept. 29, the 564th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron completed the first phase of a two phase initiative to transform the north end of Bldg. 3001 from Propulsion Overhaul and Repair Operations back to a KC-135 Programmed Depot Maintenance Operations.

A KC-135 aircraft was successfully moved into the north aircraft dock (Dock 12) of Bldg. 3001. This initiative places 564th AMXS one step closer to their "Road to 130" flow-day reduction goal and positions them for meeting the KC-135 ramp up from 48 to 64 aircraft produced annually. To do this, the team had to clear acres of material and obstacles from the north end of Bldg. 3001 and install the necessary utilities and office space required to resume Aircraft PDM operations.

The 76th Aircraft Maintenance Group, Engineering Support Organizations unit was able to build the necessary relationships across the center with the 76th MXSG, 76th PMXG, 76th CMXG, 72nd SFS, 72nd CES, 72nd OSS, to reactivate the aircraft travel path that had not seen aircraft movement since 2003.
