The 76th Maintenance Wing is set to kick off its second round of CheckMATE Q12 surveys. This round of surveys will begin on Oct. 26 and run until Nov. 6. CheckMATE is an Air Force Materiel Command initiative that provides a framework and methodology enabling supervisors to create a world-class workforce across the command, supporting the needs of the Air Force -- one work unit at a time.

The objectives of CheckMATE serve to enhance supervisory development, increase workforce engagement and impact command metrics to maximize warfighter support. Research shows supervisor effectiveness is the key factor in a changing environment.

The relationship between an employees and their direct supervisor plays a vital role in mission accomplishment. CheckMATE Q12 is one of a number of tools that enhance the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center's second strategic goal -- "Develop and care for our people to enable success."

The previous survey asked respondents to answer 12 questions that measured the level of engagement at four levels: basic needs, individual contribution, teamwork and growth.

Supervisors then developed impact plans based on their individual unit results. This second-round survey will ask the same 12 questions as before, along with three additional 'accountability' items for all that have previously taken the Q12.

Participation in CheckMATE Q12 is expanding this year to include the 327th Aircraft Sustainment Wing as well as the OC-ALC staff offices. These two organizations will have the opportunity to develop supervisors, engage the workforce and improve mission accomplishment throughout their respective organizations based on CheckMATE Q12 methodology.

The anticipated impact of a well-executed CheckMATE program is exposing supervisors to a collaborative method of achieving higher levels of wellness at the individual, work-unit and enterprise level.
