The Air Force Personnel Center will release deadlines for officers and civilians interested in developmental education opportunities soon.

Officers may apply for up to five IDE/SDE programs using the pull-down menus on the Air Force's Web-based 3849 form. The form is available for eligible officers and senior raters at https://wwa.afpc.randolph .af.mil/afpcsecure/mainmenu.asp.

Military members must be nominated by their senior rater to compete at the functional developmental team and Developmental Education Designation Board levels. The senior rater accountability date is Feb. 2, 2009. Nominees must also ensure that their Airman Development Plan is current.

Tinker civilian employees interested in attending Civilian Developmental Education, Squadron Officer School and the Air and Space Basic Course will apply through the 72nd Force Support Squadron's Education and Training office by April 17. The nomination form is available at https://wwwmil.tinker.af.mil/72dpet/CDEnom.xfd

Air Force Personnel Center's functional developmental teams will rank the nominees, validate the programs they should attend and identify follow-on assignments for those selected to participate in the CDE program which includes both IDE, for GS-12 - 15 and Pay Band 2 employees, and SDE opportunities for Pay Band 3. SOS is open to GS 9 -12 and Pay Band 2 employees, and ASBC is for Palace Acquire, Copper Cap and other base interns.
