Equipment Checkout Published Jan. 11, 2008 By 72nd Air Base Wing Services TINKER AIR FORCE BASE -- Equipment Checkout is open to all active duty, retired military and their dependents, reservists, Guardsmen and Department of Defense employees. The office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. The office is located in the Services Mall, Bldg. 478, southeast of Burger King. They offer a variety of rental items and services that are available to all base ID card holders. Members of the Tinker Club receive a 10 percent discount on rentals by showing their current Members First Plus! card at the time payment is due. Because Equipment Checkout is closed on weekends and holidays, they run a weekend special on most items. In January, rent a lawn vacuum for $18 when returning it the same day or $36 for overnight. Members First Plus! customers receive an additional 10 percent off the monthly special. Equipment Checkout carries various sizes of folding aluminum tables and chairs that will help make holiday parties successful. Advanced reservations can be made on camping trailers, dunk tanks, barbecue grills, moonwalks, canopies and more. Equipment Checkout has two sizes of Casita camping trailers that sleep two to six people. Both have heat and air, sink, range, dinette table, ice box and storage areas. They also have an A-Liner, or Pop-Up, which has all the same features and can sleep four adults. The new addition to the inventory is a 23-feet-long by 7-feet-wide sports travel trailer. It is equipped with a bathroom and has room to sleep 10. Items can be rented anytime Friday and must be returned no later than 11:30 a.m. the following Monday for only one a half day rental fee. All other rentals must be returned no later than 4:30 p.m. on the return due date. Payment for rentals are done at the time they are picked up. Cash, check, money-order, MasterCard or Visa are accepted for payment. Equipment Checkout does not accept Discover or American Express.
