Auto Hobby Shop Published Jan. 11, 2008 By 72nd Air Base Wing Services TINKER AIR FORCE BASE -- The Auto Hobby Shop, located in Bldg. 6002, is open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. To make an appointment for any of the services listed, call 734-5616. Members First Plus! members receive a 10 percent discount. An automotive safety course is offered at 5 p.m. Wednesdays. This free class qualifies patrons to use shop equipment. Car check appointments are available for brake jobs, front-end alignments, oil changes, antifreeze checks and tire balancing and rotations. Call 734-5616 for a morning appointment or for more information. Transmission system service -- This service includes a cleaner and fluid extender and should be done every 15,000 to 30,000 miles or once a year. Cost is $70 and does not include oil. Radiator system service -- The service includes a fast flush, cool off and multi treatment to extend the life of the coolant and pump. This service will increase the effectiveness of the coolant and should be accomplished once a year. Cost is $60 and does not include anti-freeze. The base Auto Mart is located within the parking blocks in the east parking lot of the Services Mall, Bldg. 478. Registration is still located at the Auto Hobby Shop in Bldg. 6002 and must be done before parking in the lot. Violators will be ticketed or towed. To place a vehicle at the auto mart, patrons must have proof of insurance, license plate number, title or registration, identification card and a credit card number. To renew a permit, call the auto shop and they will charge the credit card. Cost is $5 for seven days.
