Summer is a time for warm weather, cool friends, and lots of fun activities. Kids everywhere await the summer anxiously from their classrooms all year long. When that final bell rings, it’s time for months of fun and play.

One place for summer fun is the Tinker Youth Center. This summer program offers children and teens a variety of activities throughout the coming months. Each week features a different theme with accompanying visitors and activities. Visitors will include on- and off-base organizations, such as the Oklahoma State University Insect Adventure and the Tinker Fire Department. The program also offers daily activities like swimming and bowling, and weekly field trips for youth.

Summer camp registration begins at 6 a.m. on April 3. Requirements for registration include a current immunizations record with current flu shot, copy of sponsor’s most recent LES and a spouse’s pay stub, check or cash for a non-refundable deposit ($10 for each week reserved), copy of divorce decree or affidavit (if applicable), and valid credit or debit card for payment processing.

The summer camp starts May 25 and runs through Aug. 17. Camp times are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for youth ages 5 through 12, and 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. for ages 13 through 18.
