Base Operating Status to remain closed; essential personnel only Published Feb. 21, 2018 Tinker AFB Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Due to inclement weather, the 72nd Air Base Wing Commander will continue the base closure to include 3rd (grave) shift on Wednesday evening through 1st (day) shift on Thursday, Feb. 22. Although the base remains closed, essential personnel ARE required to report for duty as scheduled. Road and weather conditions will continue to be monitored and a decision on the base operating status for 2nd (swing) shift will be made later in the day.Base personnel should continue to monitor local television and radio stations for Tinker operating status information or go to the installation's public home page at www.tinker.af.mil, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/tinkerairforcebase, or call Tinker's Straight Talkline at 734-1900.
