Air Force Materiel Command Deputy Commander Brig. Gen. Carl E. Schaefer visited Tinker Oct. 1-3 and was given an immersion of the Air Force Sustainment Center, including the 72nd Air Base Wing, the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex and the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center offices. He was briefed at several locations, including the KC-135 programmed depot maintenance line and the R.E.A.C.T. Cell, the Gott Gate and Truck Gates and the KC-46 overlook and MROTC to gain a better understanding of readiness challenges to the Air Force enterprise as well as a look into business innovations. Here, Mark Estorga, 564th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Civilian Leader, shows Schaefer a keel beam from a KC-135 that has been reversed engineered and manufactured using Art of the Possible processes.
