An individual was recently honored with a Wildcatter award from 72nd Air Base Wing Commander Col. Kenyon K. Bell.
Tracy Driggers, 72nd Air Base Wing Civil Engineering, has served as Tinker AFB’s storage tank compliance program manager since August 2017. During this period, she has spearheaded many initiatives to increase compliance in this challenging program area. Driggers developed a step-by-step guide and tank-gauging document for tank custodians, ensuring tanks are managed in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Driggers created a petroleum, oil and lubricants cross functional team to monitor compliance and to verify that tank inspections were completed IAW state and federal regulations. She effectively communicated storage tank compliance issues with management, tank custodians, Unit Environmental coordinators, contracting officers and contractors, increasing storage tank compliance awareness base-wide. She assessed environmental requirements to support compliance associated with tank repairs, maintenance, construction, secondary containment and removal and submitted multiple work order requests for storage tank systems identified as out of compliance.
She provided detailed modifications concerning storage tank requirements to the civil engineering services PWS, ensuring the base maintenance contract fulfills the tank compliance obligations required by the Air Force, federal, state and local regulations. She gathered and input data for 268 POL tanks in the AF STAR database. A very lengthy tasking, but one which resulted in an accurate storage tank inventory IAW AFI 32-7044, and ensured tank custodians and others with a relevant need could access STAR to upload tank inspections and compliance data.
