--- Base Operating Status (Update) – 19 Feb, 1130 Published Feb. 19, 2019 72nd Air Base Wing TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Oklahoma -- --- Base Operating Status (Update) – 19 Feb., 1130 Effective immediately, the 72nd Air Base Wing / Installation Commander has authorized early dismissal for Day Shift (1st Shift), as well as closing the base for Swing Shift (2nd Shift) and Mid Shift (3rd Shift / Grave) today. For military supervisors, please excuse non-mission essential personnel during the base closure. Tinker Air Force Base supervisors will begin immediately, a staggered early dismissal of personnel for an orderly dismissal of base operations due to expected inclement weather this afternoon. The staggered dismissal should happen as soon as possible in order to allow personnel to leave the base efficiently. Although the base remains closed for second and third shift employees, essential personnel ARE required to report for duty as scheduled. Employees in a duty status (not on leave), or who are expected to return to “leave to duty status” at the time of early dismissal takes effect, are excused without charge to leave. Employees who are absent on leave that day continue to be charged leave for that day. Tinker officials will continue to monitor the weather conditions throughout the duration of this winter storm system and will issue operating status updates as needed.
