The African American Heritage Council was established in 1977 with a focus on sharing and celebrating African American history and heritage with the diverse members of the Tinker Air Force Base community. Meetings are held at 11:30 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month in the 4 Chaplains Conference Room, unless noted. The council is currently looking for unit points of contact liaisons. Anyone interested in becoming a member can contact Master Sgt. Jonathan Taylor at jonathan.taylor.11@us.af.mil. The next AAHC meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 20 in the 4 Chaplains Conference Room.
