Hello everyone and welcome to 2020. Now that the holiday season is over, the Retiree Activities Office is back in full operation. The only known closure dates for our office will be Feb. 14 and Feb. 17 for President’s Day.
We are working on the selection of our 2019 RAO Volunteer of the Year; planning our 2020 Retiree Day Activities; and still manning the DEERS/ID office, the Clinic Pharmacy and our RAO. We are always in need of more volunteers. If you can spare three hours a week we would love to have you working with us to support the Tinker AFB mission.
I know you are all thinking about the tax season which is upon us. As soon as we receive information from our Staff Judge Advocate office, we will provide information about when and where you can receive free help with the preparation of your tax forms. However, the Exchange currently has H&R Block Tax Service in place – during January their hours are Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. Their hours may change in future months, so be sure to check with the Exchange after January.
Several of you have expressed frustration with the periodic gate closures at Tinker. Anytime gates are closed, either to turn someone around who doesn’t have the proper identification or to do some construction, remember that all of this action is for your protection and safety. The increase of authorized access to the Exchange has also increased gate traffic and possible gate delays. Be patient. We are here for you Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Bldg. 1, Door 7, Room 153. You can also call the office at 739-2795 at any time and leave a message and we will be back with you on the next shift.
