Tinker update: HPCON Charlie Measures

Tinker Air Force Base has moved to Health Protection Condition (HPCON) Charlie in response to COVID-19 on March 26.

HPCON Charlie is implemented when there is an elevated risk of sustained community transmission and includes strict social distancing measures, including limiting meetings, socials and gatherings, and additional access restrictions to base and facilities.

Measures being implemented include airfield official business only, minimal manning/staggered shifts, an established straight talk center, selective gates closures, closure of most Morale Welfare and Recreation facilities, health screenings prior to entry of buildings where feasible and activation of the chaplain control center.

Hope and Turnball Gate will temporarily close beginning March 30. In addition, the visitor center is now open 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Only 12 visitors will be allowed in the lobby at one time, so many will be met and asked to wait in the vehicle during processing. There is no change for visitor passes or contractor identification cards. It is recommended to call 405-739-5191 before traveling to base if one is worried about visitor or base access.

The commissary remains open with adjusted hours:

8:30 a.m. Open for Authorized Handicapped Patrons; no visitors

8:30 - 10:00 a.m. Open for Military, their dependents and eligible first responders (i.e. Tinker Fire Dept); no visitors

10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Open to 100% military ID card holders; no visitors

A full list of hours and closures can be found on tinker.af.mil/coronavirus/

REMINDER: For those who believe they may have been exposed can contact the 24 hour COVID-19 Hotline: 405-582-6297. If you have been exposed to the coronavirus, do not come to the base. Return home and contact your Primary Care Doctor or the hotline.
