Tinker Frontlines: Meet Airman 1st Class Shane Butler from the 72nd Security Forces Squadron

Airman 1st Class Shane Butler serves as a vehicle search area member with the 72nd Security Forces Squadron. He has been in the Air Force for a year and eight months and is from Palm Coast, Florida, where he enjoyed going surfing.

His duties include processing all commercial and contractor vehicles through the Truck Gate, running background checks and searching vehicles. During COVID-19, the team at the Truck Gate has implemented health protection measures including wearing personal protective equipment, social distancing as much as possible and setting up an outside waiting area for drivers waiting on background checks.

Butler says the best part of his job is the teamwork with his tight-knit group of co-workers.
