Tinker Frontlines: Meet Staff Sgt. John Gomez

Staff Sgt. John Gomez, a medical technician with the 72nd Operational Medical Readiness Squadron, has been enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for four and a half years. He claims New York City as his hometown, but originally hails from Pereira, Columbia.

As the non-commissioned officer in charge of the 72nd OMRS, Gomez in charge of operations in his squadron. On the frontline of the 72nd Medical Group, Gomez and his colleagues have supported the mission by screening patients for upper respiratory symptoms, taking vitals, ordering medications and delivering them to patients on-the-spot. They ask questions for COVID-19 symptoms and perform a nasal wash and send to the lab if necessary.

Gomez says he enjoys his job because he likes to help people and be able to carry on with the mission.
