TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- For 11 May, Tinker AFB remains in HPCON Charlie due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest COVID-19 confirmed cases include two active duty members of 552 ACW who contracted the virus while deployed and went into immediate quarantine upon return to Tinker. Health officials are actively tracing all recent movements and contacts in conjunction with affected units and local health authorities. Anyone considered to have been exposed to increased risk will be contacted directly.
The Tinker Veterinarian Clinic is reopening today, with limited manning and hours. The clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to noon Fridays, with 50 percent staffing daily. The staff will take appointments for immediately upcoming or past due vaccines/wellness exams, helping families prepare to PCS with their pets, health certificate examinations and urgent/sick call appointments. They will not be doing any anesthetic procedures or surgeries at this time. The Tinker Vet Clinic can be reached at 405-734-5780.
As a reminder, Tinker is still operating under a Public Health Emergency. This is in effect until May 21. On this day a determination will be made on whether to extend or cancel the PHE based on the current threat of COVID-19 to Tinker Air Force Base and it’s personnel.
