TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- For 18 May, Tinker AFB remains in HPCON Charlie due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest COVID-19 confirmed case is a base Civil Engineering contractor who works in waste water treatment and tested positive 15 May. Health officials are actively tracing all recent movements and contacts in conjunction with affected units and local health authorities. Anyone considered to have been exposed to increased risk will be contacted directly.
This week, Oklahoma City started phase 2 of the Open Up and Recover Safely Plan. Despite these openings, you should continue current mitigation measures such as cloth face coverings, distancing, and very frequent hand cleaning. With the reopening of bars, salons restaurants and additional businesses, the risk of exposure to COVID-19 remains.
For non-medical COVID-19 concerns, the Straight Talk Center is available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. It can be reached at 405-734-2567.
