Taunya L. Avery is the assistant installation deployment officer and logistics planner with the 72nd Logistics Readiness Squadron.

Avery, who grew up in Moore, Oklahoma, has 10 years of federal service. She enjoys being outdoors cycling, swimming, running and planting flowers.

As a logistics planner and assistant installation deployment officer, Avery said she enjoys “taking care of the warfighters and helping to ensure they are deployment ready, fully trained and equipped in meeting the needs of the combatant commanders when called to serve.”

COVID has impacted how the squadron conducts day-to-day operations, challenging Avery and her colleagues to be more innovative and adapt quickly to new Public Health policies and security measures.

“We understand that ‘winning’ against this virus means being responsible for taking care of one another by practicing social distancing in order to limit exposure and not taking each other for granted,” she said. “It is truly a team effort!”
