For July 21, Tinker AFB remains in HPCON Bravo Plus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest confirmed cases include 3 OC-ALC civilians from B3001 and another from B9001, 2 members of 552 ACW (B230, B282), and a Navy MEPS member. Health officials are actively tracing all recent movements and contacts in conjunction with affected units and local health authorities. Anyone considered to have been exposed to increased risk will be contacted directly.

The Oklahoma City City Council voted July 17 to approve an emergency public safety ordinance requiring face coverings in indoor public places throughout Oklahoma City. Everyone age 11 and up is required to wear a face covering in indoor public spaces, with some exceptions. The mandate is effective immediately. Defense Secretary Mark Esper issued guidance on the public display or depiction of flags across the Department of Defense. According to a new policy memorandum, flags must align with military imperatives of good order and discipline and must reject divisive symbols. The new guidance includes a list of flags service members and civilian employees are authorized to display in DoD work places, common access areas and public areas. Secretary Esper also issued a memorandum on Immediate Actions to Address Diversity, Inclusion, and Equal Opportunity in the Military Service which details recommendations from across the Department of Defense the Secretary deemed necessary to address immediately. To that end, Secretary Esper directed several policy initiatives to include the removal of photographs from consideration by promotion boards and a review of hairstyle and grooming policies for racial bias, among other immediate actions.
