Little ghouls and werewolves rejoice, Halloween is just around the corner!

This year's base housing trick-or-treat hours will be Sunday, October 31, from 6 to 8 p.m., which mirrors Midwest City's hours. The 72nd Security Forces Squadron will have a lost child center set up at the Youth Center. If you need lost child or security assistance that evening, call the Security Forces Base Defense Operations Center at 405-734-3737.

As in Halloweens past, parents and trick-or-treaters alike should remember to exercise safety when heading out on Halloween night. Check out the following safety tips:

H        Hold the flashlight so you can see where you’re going and others can see you
A         Alert drivers to your presence by wearing highly reflective clothing / costumes
L         Look both ways when crossing the street / use crosswalks when available
L         Lost? Go to a pre-arranged meeting point if you get separated from your group
O        Only trick-or-treat with trusted adults or group of kids in well-lit areas
W        Wear costumes that allow you to see, breath, walk and not catch fire
E         Eat only treats that have been approved by a trusted adult
E         Extra precautions for the COVID-19 pandemic: masks, hand sanitizer, social distancing
N         Never go into a house or vehicle with strangers

In addition to trick-or-treating, several base events will be celebrating over the next few days. Events are listed in order from soonest to latest.
