TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 72nd Air Base Wing held a change of command ceremony July 17, 2023.
Col. G. Hall Sebren, Jr. relinquished command to Col. Abigail L.W. Ruscetta in a ceremony presided by Lt. Gen. Stacey T. Hawkins, Air Force Sustainment Center commander.
“Today I want to particularly highlight two exemplary Airmen who represent the best of our Air Force and all of its Airmen. One, Col. Hall Sebren, for his leadership of this installation during particularly dynamic and complex times,” said Hawkins. “And the other, Col. Abby Ruscetta, who’s record of unprecedented excellence, for more than two decades, has prepared her perfectly to assume this important mantle of leadership.”
Ruscetta previously served as the vice commander of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex at Tinker. She assisted the commander leading a team of over 10,000 military and civilian professionals delivering combat power for America.
“I am so proud to be a Wildcatter!” said Ruscetta. “This is truly a dream come true and I look forward to serving you for the next two years. Let’s get back to work!”
Following two years as commander of the 72nd ABW, Sebren will serve as vice commander of the Air Force Sustainment Center, headquartered at Tinker.
“Col. Ruscetta, I present to you a command that is trained and ready to support Team Tinker and the broader Air Force mission,” said Sebren. “You are absolutely the right leader at the right time for this team.”
The 72nd ABW provides installation support for over 27,000 personnel assigned to the Headquarters Air Force Sustainment Center, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, 552nd Air Control Wing, Navy Strategic Communications Wing One, 507th Air Refueling Wing, 448th Supply Chain Management Wing and 45 other associate units. The 72nd ABW enables numerous critical missions at Tinker AFB, the largest single-site employer in the state of Oklahoma, with a total economic impact of $6.4 billion.
