President George W. Bush signed a proclamation on June 5, 2006, designating June as the month of observance for National Caribbean American Heritage Month.
The observance honors Caribbean American people's rich culture and heritage and recognizes their significant contributions to the United States of America.
We spoke with Nicola Maye-Leith, 72nd Air Base Wing’s director of integrated prevention, about National Caribbean American Heritage Month, its significance, the contributions of Caribbean Americans, and cultural diversity.
