Asset Management Office moving Published Dec. 14, 2012 72nd ABW Communications Directorate TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The 72nd Air Base Wing Communications Directorate's Information Technology Asset Management Office is moving, effective Jan. 2-4. ITAM is responsible for all information technology equipment on- and off-base for the Air Force and Department of Defense. ITAM's staff of six and the inventory currently housed in Bldg. 510 will relocate to Bldg. 469, directly across the street from the current location. Future shipments of IT Hardware will be delivered by vendors to Bldg. 469, Door 24. Equipment custodians or their representatives will continue to coordinate their asset pick-up date and time with the ITAM warehouse manager at 739-5300. This relocation is a result of a November 2011 Rapid Improvement Event to centralize IT assets scattered across Tinker in six buildings and one lean-to structure, each with varying degrees of security and climate control. Bldg. 469 offers more space, brighter lights, better climate and a more secure facility to house valuable IT assets. All military and civilian employees retiring or leaving government service are required to out-process through the ITAM office. Those out-processing and new Information Technology Equipment Custodians reporting to Basic ITEC training will enter the South side of Bldg. 469 through Door 34 to the ITAM Office.
