SDP self-nomination opens in January Published Dec. 14, 2012 Manpower and Personnel Directorate TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Employees interested in supervision can submit their applications for the FY13 Supervisor Development Program Jan. 22-29. SDP is designed to promote a more robust first-level supervisor corps through greater emphasis on leadership competencies in the screening and development processes. This program will select employees based on demonstrated leadership competency, self initiative, and technical qualification and prepare them for future first-level supervisory positions. Due to the Air Force-wide adoption of the Single Staffing Tool, the self-nomination process has changed. As always, qualification is based on merit promotion principles. Interested employees may apply by uploading a current resumé and career brief during the Jan. 22-29 application period on the SDP application page. Through the application process, applicants will be asked what series they are applying for. The page is accessible from the Tinker AFB Home Page under the Current Events scrolling section. Once selected to the program, participants must complete both formal training and experiential elements before being placed in the SDP graduate pool as a mandatory selection for any positions for which they apply and qualify. Watch for additional information regarding the program in future Tinker Take Off articles, and on the SDP CoP, plasma screens, marquees and through email correspondence. If you have any questions or need additional information, call SDP program managers Mark Boydstun, AFSC/DPDF, off base at 736-0319 or Julie McGuinness, AFSC/DPDF, off base at 736-0328.
