Family Health Flight earns team Wildcatter Award Published Nov. 16, 2012 72nd Air Base Wing TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Since July 1, the 72nd Medical Operations Squadron Family Health Flight has worked to provide the Tinker community with 13,000 medical appointments valued at $2 million in health care, all the while maintaining an overall 96 percent patient satisfaction rate for the 22,000 beneficiaries. During the 72nd Medical Group move, they led the charge by transporting $496,000 worth of supplies and equipment ensuring the Air Force's newest state-of-the-art clinic was fully operational within 48 hours. Additionally, the flight directed post-deployment care for 1,600 active duty members, cutting a 700 patient backlog by 45 percent in just one month, boosting on-time review rates from 42 percent to 98 percent. Furthermore, they championed the Patient Centered Medical Home launch by training six teams to monitor standards, which drove continuity in care up 43 percent. Finally, the Family Health Flight's efforts culminated as they maximized efficiency by slashing urgent care referrals by 75 percent.
