Curtis Vincent is on a roll at the Tinker Bowling Center.

Two weeks after winning the Mixed Doubles 9-Pin, No-Tap Tournament on Feb. 25 with 36 consecutive strikes, he won the High/Low Tournament on March 10 by six pins. Vincent, a jet engine mechanic in the 546th Propulsion Maintenance Squadron, rolled a high game of 233 and a low game of 88, for a score of 145.

Brett Moler, Tinker Bowling Center general manager, said that High/Low is a two-game event in which every player bowls the first game for the high score, while the second game is for low score. Each ball in low score must knock down at least one pin. If no pins are knocked down with the first ball, it's scored as a strike, and a miss with the second ball counts as a spare. The low score is subtracted from the high score to determine the net score, and the highest net score wins.

Kathleen Kelley, who placed third in the Mixed Doubles 9-Pin, No-Tap Tournament, snared second place in this tournament with a score of 139. Jason Baer came in third, with 112 pins.

The other contestants were: Moler; Jerry Girardot; George Maxwell; Stephen Kelley, who partnered with his wife, Kathleen Kelley, in the mixed doubles tournament; Adam Hall, who bowled the highest score last Saturday, a 252; Chris Buehrer and Kristy Dalton.

"We had a low turnout for this tournament, but everyone liked the format and they want to have another one again," said Moler. "This was the first time we used this format."
