President nominates General Litchfield for his third star Published March 19, 2012 Tinker Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- The commander of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center has been nominated by the President for promotion to the grade of lieutenant general and appointment as commander of the planned Air Force Sustainment Center. Pending confirmation by the United States Senate, Maj Gen Bruce A. Litchfield will become the inaugural commander of the new Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker. The center is being established as part of a restructure announced by Air Force Materiel Command last November. "It is a tremendous honor and privilege to be nominated by the President as the Air Force Sustainment Center commander," said General Litchfield. "I view this as a tremendous opportunity to help shape our Air Force to meet the challenging times ahead."
