TACAMO recognizes quarterly winners at luncheon Published Sept. 2, 2011 Strategic Communications Wing ONE Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Strategic Communications Wing ONE, Oklahoma Metropolitan business leaders, Metro Area City chambers of commerce and the Navy League came together at the 50th Take Charge and Move Out Community Council Luncheon on Aug. 18, to honor the recipients of quarterly awards. The luncheon was held at the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training High Bay with about 140 people in attendance. Rear Admiral Fritz Roegge, deputy commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike, United States Strategic Command, served as the guest speaker. During his remarks, Admiral Roegge congratulated awardees and thanked the Oklahoma community for their support of military members. "I would like to take the time to congratulate all the well deserved nominees and awardees," said Admiral Roegge. "Also looking around and seeing all this great representation of the community, I'd like us military members to give a round of applause for the great support that is clearly in evidence for the military community by the civilian community here in Oklahoma City." Admiral Roegge went on to thank the TACAMO community as a whole for the vital mission they conduct every day. "Sometimes we think about strategic deterrence in terms of launch platforms such as the ballistic missile submarines, bombers, and inter-continental ballistic missiles," said Admiral Roegge. "Equally important is that which TACAMO provides which is the secure, reliable, survivable, and credible national command and control that allows the President of the United States to have confidence in his ability to communicate with and control his forces. The ability of the TACAMO community to do its job, do it well, do it every day; consistently, reliably, survivable, and credibly is critical to the effectiveness of the nation's strategic deterrence. For that I want to thank you."
