The week of combined inspections is over for Team Tinker and leaders are pleased with the results.

Representatives of Air Force Materiel Command's and Air Combat Command's Inspector General teams conducted compliance inspections of AFMC and ACC units here July 25-29. A Logistics Compliance Inspection and a Safety Program Management Evaluation also occurred concurrently. The 3rd Combat Communications Group was also visited by inspectors from Air Force Space Command, who conducted a Communications Security inspection and an LCAP inspection.

Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center:
The OC-ALC received an overall grade of "In Compliance" for the UCI and the Safety Program Management Evaluation. This is the highest possible grade for the inspection. The center also received an overall grade of "Excellent" for the LCAP.

"Inspections are never easy ... You should be very proud of all your people. The results speak for themselves," said AFMC IG Col. Thomas Schneider.

Maj. Gen. David Gillett, OC-ALC commander, thanked the AFMC IG team for their professionalism and attitudes during the entire inspection process and also emphasized the teamwork evident across Tinker to achieve such high marks.

"'In compliance,' that just doesn't capture this success. I have another word ... Incredible," said General Gillett. "You are an incredible team. I can't tell you how proud I am of you and your ability to work together."

552nd Air Control Wing:
The 552nd ACW received an overall grade of "In Compliance" on their inspection, the highest grade possible. They also received an overall grade of "Excellent" in the Safety Program Management Evaluation.

"I'm proud of the performance of our Airmen. I believe we have some of the best Airmen in the Air Force and they continue to demonstrate why we are America's preeminent Air Control Wing," said Col. John Rauch, 552nd Air Control Wing commander. "It is obvious this wing doesn't just "look" good, but is striving to develop a culture of compliance and excellence."

448th Supply Chain Management Wing:
The 448th SCMW received an overall grade of "In Compliance" on their inspection and an "Outstanding" in the LCAP portion.

"I am extremely proud of our groups at Tinker for their success in last week's inspections. I am privileged to have (several) outstanding performers," said Gilbert Montoya, director of the 448th SCMW.

498th Missile Sustainment Division:
The 498th Missile Sustainment Division was also visited by AFMC inspectors for a UCI and received a grade of "In Compliance," the highest grade possible.

"I'm so proud of our team for their performance in the UCI," said Sherie Donay, 498th director. "Lots of work went into our preparations for the inspection, but it was the day-to-day, long-term performance executing our mission that made our success."

3rd Combat Communications Group:
Air Force Space Command conducted its first Cyber Logistics Compliance Assessment Program inspection with the 3rd Combat Communications Group last week. According to Col. David Babyak, 3d CCG commander, the 3rd Herd had about 45 days to prepare for the inspection while also preparing for three deployments to Iraq, plus the unit's normal day-to-day training, maintenance and compliance activities.

"This was the first time in Air Force history that combat communications received this type inspection and the 'cyber' aspect of this inspection added much more than a traditional LCAP at a host base. It was very similar to a full-blown compliance inspection," said Colonel Babyak. "The results were absolutely no surprise and the inspectors were hugely impressed with every Herdsman's professionalism and motivation and stated such over and over."

"The overall 'satisfactory' rating validated our own compliance assessment," said the colonel, "and the significantly higher marks we received in many areas proved our compliance mindset is getting better every day."
