The MDG Ringers didn't even bat an eye. On July 18 at Championship Field, the Medics sunk VQ-3 in an intramural slow-pitch softball doubleheader.

Following a 17-2 win in four winnings, MDG beat Navy by seven or eight runs. The final score is debatable. The umpire counted four runs by Navy, but the scorekeeper who sat closer to the Medics counted five Navy runs. Regardless, MDG still won.

"I still feel we need to hit more as a team, but we were coming into form for a deep playoff run," said Mike McCabe of the MDG Ringers. "All in all, we got both W's pretty easily so I'm happy with my team's progress."

Unlike the first game, the start was slow. Navy scored three runs and MDG one. In the second inning, MDG tied Navy and the teams sat at three runs apiece.

The top of the third inning looked as it would hold at 3-3, until MDG came up to bat. The team scored nine runs, letting MDG lead 12-3.

Navy tried to catch up. In the top of the fourth inning, they scored a single run, according to the scorekeeper. MDG failed to score again.

At the top of the fifth inning, MDG still led 12-4. Although Navy tried to raise the score, only one more player would round the bases. When the game was called, MDG won 12-5 or 12-4, depending on who you believe.
