Drunk Sex or Date Rape

How do you know if someone wants to "hook up?"

This is a family paper, so we won't list the ways, but let's assume that most people think it's fairly obvious if a member of the opposite sex is sending signals. But, what do those signals mean and can you interpret them correctly if you or the other person has been drinking? Can you, or a jury, be trusted to sort it all out if a sexual assault occurs?

Tinker's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response office is sponsoring a presentation 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. June 28 at the base theater called "Drunk Sex or Date Rape" that attempts to answer these questions and provide some concrete solutions to a problem that is often confusing for young adults.

The presentation will communicate facts about consent, hook-up culture, alcohol myths, intoxication and legal standards. This will be done in a way that invites discussion and debate and Airmen will be able to draw their own conclusions at the end of the courtroom-themed presentation.
