The 72nd Force Support Squadron is putting the final touches on the upcoming Car and Motorcycle Show, Summer Bash and Survivor Challenge.

The day's free events have a little something for everyone with two live bands, kid's games, pony rides, inflatable rides, food and much more. It is open to all base ID card holders and invited guests.

Summer Bash and the Survivor Challenge activities run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 4 on the east side of Bldg. 6001. Children will enjoy a variety of games, inflatable rides and activities all day long. A $10 games and rides wristband allows kids unlimited fun throughout the day. Individual tickets are also available for 50 cents each.

Banana Seat band will perform on the Summer Bash stage from 1 to 5 p.m. This nine-piece group, which hails from the Norman/Oklahoma City area, began their quest to be the most unique and entertaining band in the fall of 1996. The group is comprised of guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, plus two female vocalists and four horns -- their big sound insists there's nothing they can't do. They have been playing a "high-end" variety of popular music from the 70s and early 80s for crowds of hundreds and sometimes thousands of appreciative fans.

How about joining a fun team challenge survivor-style competition? Squadron versus squadron compete for Force Support Squadron credit vouchers; first place takes home $1,000, second place wins $500 and third place receives $250, plus a Commanders' Trophy. Teams need a total of seven players that consist of one senior enlisted person, one junior enlisted person, a female and a family member -- these players cannot be voted out of the tribe. The remainder of players must be from your organization. There will be tribe challenges throughout the day and the winner will be announced at the conclusion of Summer Bash. Sign up deadline for the Survivor Challenge is June 1. An entry form can be found on page 6a or can be downloaded from www.tinkerliving.com and click on the Survivor logo. First place awards and a Commander's Trophy awarded with a $100 cash prize. The Bop Cats band will perform during the car show from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Car show festivities will conclude at 3 p.m. All bikers and passengers must wear helmets, long sleeved shirts and reflective vests.
