On April 12, the 552nd Air Control Wing will honor its newest rated aviators with certificates of aeronautical rating and Air Battle Manager Wings. The ceremony will culminate two years of intensive training for this elite group of nine young officers and professional military aviators.

Those receiving their wings are 2nd Lt. Donald, Adams, 964th AACS; 2nd Lt. Noel Conrad, 964th AACS; 2nd Lt. Benjamin Hagardt, 964th AACS; 2nd Lt. David Morgan, 963rd AACS; 2nd Lt. Shawn Ostby, 964th AACS; 2nd Lt. Daniel Sloat, 964th AACS; 2nd Lt. Andrew Staton, 963rd AACS; 2nd Lt. Joshua Still, 964th AACS; and 2nd Lt. Donald Williams Jr., 964th AACS.

These new ABMs have completed the final leg of their certification which began in the 325th Air Control Squadron at Tyndall AFB, Fla., the 966th Airborne Air Control Squadron and the 552nd Training Squadron.

These ABMs will now dissolve into one of the 552nd ACW's operational squadrons to support the wing's solitary mission of providing the world's best command and control anytime, anywhere.

Lieutenants Hagardt and Morgan won the ABM Distinguished Graduate Award. The award is sponsored by the Air Force Association and is given in honor of retired Air Force Col. Kevin "Jeep" Dunleavy who died on Jan. 28, 2007.

To be selected as a distinguished graduate, a student must have a 96 percent or greater academic average during initial qualification training, a 96 percent or greater on the open and closed book test, no failures during any phases of training, a Q1 no write-up checkride, and finally, be recommended by instructors.
