O'Brien Staff Writer TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- TACAMO lived up to its name Tuesday night as the team took charge and moved out early en route to a 49-20 victory over the 551st CMMXS. The game began slowly, but within minutes, TACAMO had the lead and they weren't giving it up. CMMXS took the ball on the opening tip and appeared in control, but that didn't last. After TACAMO's Bryant Gaines hit one of two free throws, CMMXS scored and took the lead for the first and only time in the game. TACAMO took over and went up by one, then three, then seven points in the first four minutes of the game. CMMXS hit only two of four free throws and trailed 9-4 with 11 minutes left in the first half. Before the first time out, with eight minutes left to go in the half, CMMXS gained another three points, but TACAMO scored 10. Sean Trosper tried to boost his CMMXS team at the charity stripe, hitting three of four free throws in the final minutes of the half. CMMXS just couldn't catch up. When the half-time whistle blew, TACAMO led 28-12. The second half was more of the same. After TACAMO scored three points, CMMXS's Michael Young made one free throw, bringing the score to 31-13. CMMXS crept to 17 points, but TACAMO had a firm grip on the lead. With nine minutes left in the game, TACAMO led 38-17. TACAMO continued to gain points, obtaining an additional 11 points before the game drew to a close. When the final whistle blew, TACAMO walked off with a 29 point victory.
