The inspection is just around the corner. The 72nd Medical Group will undergo a "Health Services Inspection" and civilian accreditation beginning Jan. 17, and culminating Jan. 21.

A nine-member military team from the Air Force Inspector General's office will work in conjunction with a three-member civilian team from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare to closely examine all aspects of healthcare delivery at the 72nd MDG.

"This is our report card," said Col. Robert Marks, 72nd MDG commander. "This is an independent agency coming in and looking at all of our programs and policies and letting us know how we're doing compared to what the Air Force says we should be doing."

Patients at the 72nd MDG may experience some minor delays in service due to clinic personnel involvement in meetings and assessments. Medical group personnel will also shift their normal training day from Wednesday to Friday to consolidate activities. Therefore, the 72nd MDG will be closed Friday, but open on Wednesday. The regular training schedule will resume in February.

"Everything we do here focuses on our No. 1 priority -- patients," Colonel Marks said. "Whether that's readiness training for care at a deployed location or providing it right here at Tinker, we focus all of our efforts on that, our most important mission."
