Youth Center Published Dec. 10, 2010 Tinker Youth Center TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Tinker Youth Programs, an affiliate with Boys and Girls Clubs of America, is one of more than 4,300 clubs across the country joining in a search to identify talented young artists. The competition is part of the BGCA National Fine Arts Exhibit program, a comprehensive initiative promoting young people's creativity and encouraging artistic skills and cultural enrichment. As a participant in the National Fine Arts Exhibit program, Tinker Youth Programs may submit members' artwork in four age divisions and 10 categories, including watercolor, pastel, oil, acrylic and collage. Selected artwork will be screened at the regional level and a limited number will be sent to BGCA's Atlanta headquarters for judging at the national level. Thirty-seven national winners will be named and their artwork displayed at special events throughout the year. Winning artists will also receive an engraved plaque and letter of congratulations from BGCA President Roxanne Spillett. Regional finalists will receive a certificate of participation. During last year's competition, Tinker Youth Programs submitted 15 pieces of youth artwork to the regional competition hosted by NAS Corpus Christi Youth Activities. Tinker Youth Programs is currently accepting artwork to be showcased during the Express Yourself Fine Arts Exhibit. The deadline to submit youth artwork is Dec. 18.
