They set high standards in preventing damage caused by foreign objects and take every task seriously to produce quality products in support of the Warfighter. The shop meets daily to discuss FOD prevention topics and to conduct daily FOD walks throughout the area. They are focused on FOD prevention by keeping their work area clean and assigning extra duties for tasks such as cleaning the parts tables, emptying trash/FOD containers and cleaning shelves and lockers. Final Prep's Production Control Center controls the specialty tools and consumable/expendable items for the shop to provide accountability and utilizing vending machines to control PPE and other expendable items not kept in the PCC. All of these efforts combined with a positive attitude towards FOD awareness is what makes the Final Prep shop truly deserving of this award, officials said.
