Though it's becoming a well-worn rivalry at this point, it still feels good for the Nordiques to see their Goliaths fall. They saw their primary league rival Party Boyz make just such a fall June 6. The previous time the Nordiques faced off with the Party Boyz it ended in a 4-4 tie. But on Sunday the Party Boyz didn't even have a chance and Tinker put them down handily 7-3.

It was an up-tempo row from the beginning for the Nordiques. They came out with quick passing and precision execution. Jeremy Brennan claimed the first goal in the opening minutes of the first period, on an assist from Bryson Harley from behind the net.

Harley followed this up with a run of his own, putting it in the back of the net on a coast-to-coast breakaway. It was 2-0 at the end of the first. Goliath had taken his first blow and the Nordiques were just rolling up their sleeves.

Despite solid play from the Nordiques goalie, the Party Boyz put two in the net during the second period. But Tinker answered back with two goals of their own. Clark McClay netted a goal from the slot on an assist by Brennan. Then, it was forward Kyle Bostic who put the other one in the net. It was 4-2 to close the period. Goliath had taken another on the chin.

The third period was the Party Boyz' Waterloo. Tinker put three more past their goalie, working the corners and high slot and going top shelf on most shots. McClay notched his second goal of the game and finally it was Shayne Carroll with the death knell, as he earned the goal on a solo coast-to-coast breakaway.

"We just focused on solid passing, tape to tape, and consistently had a solid breakout," Brennan said. "Our goalie played really well too, stopping quite a few blistering shots and saving us after a few mistakes on our part. Our positioning and passing was text book and made it almost impossible for them to interrupt our plays once we got going."

The Nordiques improved to 2-1-1 on the summer season. Up next they face off against the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. June 13 at the Blazers Ice Center
