Team Tinker launched into the world of social networking recently with the debut of Twitter and Facebook sites allowing users to follow the base's latest news and activities.
"The goal is to engage not only Airmen from Tinker, but from all over the Air Force -- potential recruits, families and co-workers," said Col Allen Jamerson, 72nd Air Base Wing commander.

"These tools will help us keep up with the need for immediate at-your-finger-tips information about Tinker AFB and the Air Force."

The Tinker Air Force Base page: www.facebook.com/pages/TinkerAirForceBase has photos, video and news about base events. Our Facebook fans and friends will be able to post comments on our wall, upload your own images and keep up with special events.

Brief announcements about Tinker activities will be posted on the www.twitter.com/Team_Tinker feed. Team_Tinker followers and other visitors to the feed can also join in the conversation by posting comments. Links to other Air Force Twitter feeds will also be posted.

The 72nd ABW Public Affairs office maintains the pages and updates them weekly with news links, photos and videos.

A link to the Air Force Social Media Guidebook is available on both the Twitter and Facebook pages.

Units and other on-base organizations that would like to establish an official presence on social networking sites need to coordinate their efforts with the Public Affairs Office. Security and Policy Review of information and images is required before a site can be published.
