ALC senior leaders improve goals for the future Published April 16, 2010 OC-ALC Mission Control Center TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- Senior leaders, an American Federation of Government Employees representative and Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center customers and suppliers met last week to discuss progress-to-date in meeting the ALC's fiscal 2010 strategic goals and to set improvement targets for fiscal 2011. The theme was teamwork and integration of efforts across the center. "We need to establish clear priorities, set aggressive targets to drive improvement, and identify areas where we need mutual support. It's all about synchronizing our efforts toward achieving our goals," said Maj. Gen. David Gillett, OC-ALC commander. Center leaders found that the OC-ALC is meeting its targets in areas such as energy efficiency. Also, the center is making progress toward meeting depot flow days and quality improvements. However, the center is still short of customer needs in critical areas such as aircraft and engines, which will continue to be a focus area. Participants reviewed the results of the recent employee "Q12" survey to determine focus areas to further enable the workforce. The ALC is also short of the objective to achieve Voluntary Protection Program Star status, but officials said progress is being made. At the meeting, center leaders also established fiscal 2011 improvement targets. Those new targets will be released in late summer as the new strategic plan for fiscal 2011 is published. "Overall, the center is on the right track," General Gillett said. "We are creating synergy and teamwork. We still have gaps in our performance, but we will continue to sustain our efforts so that we can meet warfighter needs well into the future. This week validated our progress and focused us on the future."
