"The family that gets up on stage together, stays together." Isn't that how the old cliché goes? If not, it should as the Tinker Youth Center hosts the annual Family and Teen Talent Contest, supporting the Year of the Air Force Family.

On April 24, moms, dads, brothers and sisters are invited to sing, dance and perform together in the family-oriented event.

Contestants can enter one of eight categories: Children (ages 6 to 8 inclusive); Preteen (ages 9 to 12 inclusive) Solo/Individual or Group Act; Teen (ages 13 to 18 inclusive) Solo/Individual Vocal Act, Solo/Individual Instrumental Act, Solo/Individual Performance or Specialty Act or Group Act; Family (parent and youth, husband and wife). Participants must be of the same immediate family.

"We invite everyone to enjoy an evening of entertainment while cheering for their co-workers and neighbors," said Mark Hefti, teen coordinator.

VHS tapes or DVDs of installation winners will be submitted for the Air Force-level contest.

Those interested in participating can call the Youth Center at 734-7866 for more information.
