Wings announce award winners Published Feb. 5, 2010 72 ABW Public Affairs TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. -- 327th Aircraft Sustainment Wing quarterly awards Administrative/Clerical Category: Wynoma Burkholder from the 747th ACSG Ms. Burkholder is the E-3 Squadron focal point for Electronic Records Management. She spent evenings and weekends ensuring record custodians were trained and records were correctly maintained. As a result, no defects were noted during a recent base audit. She fills in at the 327th ASW office when called upon and never skips a beat. GS 8-11 Category: Barry May, 427th ACSG Mr. May co-hosted an annual B-1 Mission Ready Spare Parts conference, that leaned kit requirements by removing unnecessary items saving $140 million. He conducted weekly cross-talks with eight organizations allowing proactive responses to manage aircraft parts support. He worked with engineers to complete high risk drawings for crack repair upon completion eliminating the need for field tests. GS 12-15 Category: Dustin Kyger from the 747th ACSG Mr. Kyger is warfighter-focused and provided over 25 quick-turn air frame engineering support requests, which kept the B-2 aircraft fleet flying. He worked 9 hour days, weekends and holidays and quickly responded to over nine critical engineering support requests. He maintained and supported an aircraft fleet of 20 with a 7,100 flying hour schedule, the highest mission capable rate in history. Staff/Action Officer Category: Patrice Zimmerman from the 727th ACSG Ms. Zimmerman provided outstanding guidance and assistance during the Operational Readiness Inspection. During the Inspection she took the lead in creating a vital information package for the Contractor Logistics Support group that was also adopted by the 72nd Air Base Wing. She is the facilitator of an AFSO21 Lean project in financial management that led to a savings of 181 man-hours a month. Company Grade Officer Category: Capt. Vue Yang from the 327th ACSG Captain Yang supervised a three-person financial team in programming, executing and reporting on a $240 million annual budget. He finalized a $1.02 billion, fiscal 2012 Program Objective Memorandum that was critical to B-52 capabilities and sustainment. He aligned a B-52 portfolio with Air Combat Command requirements with six must-do programs worth $292.9 million locked-in, sustaining the B-52 until fiscal 2020. Team Category: Antenna Program Support, Source Selection Team This team is responsible for the first long-term, all encompassing contract for CLS support of the High Frequency Global Communication System antennas. The team conducted a complex, full trade-off source selection at an estimated value of $78 million over seven years. They set the standard for protest documentation to be used for future requirements. Team members are Jeff Blosser, Janice Cessna, Bob Coffman, Jeff Johnson, Steven Lockhart, Tim McKleroy, Duy Nguyen, Tom Parsons and Margaret Wright. 72nd Air Base Wing Wildcatter Awards 1st Lt. Brielle Pearce, 72nd Medical Group Lieutenant Pearce's consistently outstanding leadership skills proved herself to be ahead of her first year of service as a public health officer. She is a valuable asset to her flight and to her squadron and is dedicated to the 72nd Medical Group's mission and vision of "The Best Care Anywhere." During a two week leadership absence, she led the flight and ensured that all 100 percent of suspenses were met. She revised reportable disease instructions so that they are now in line with CDC guidance ensuring the safety of 54,000 beneficiaries. Her efforts to promote element self inspections help posture her team for IG success. She directed Tinker Air Force Base's H1N1 response and vaccine procurement securing 40,000 vital doses. She is dedicated to self improvement by completing the Heart Saver and AED training as well as devoting five hours of German language study per week. She mentored AFJROTC cadets, volunteered for the Lighthouse Triathlon and interned with the Tulsa Boxer Rescue program. Lieutenant Pearce has not only directly and indirectly supported Operation Iraqi Freedom but also the mission of ensuring the Air Force sustains and leverages a fit-to-fight force. Brenda Young, 72nd Medical Group Ms. Young serves as the budget officer for the Resource Management Flight of the 72nd Medical Group. She authored a comprehensive fiscal 2010 financial plan helping to secure $24 million. Funds of more than $230,000 were distributed to three vital base programs under her care that helped promote a fit-to-fight force. She helped orchestrate a $14 million allocation assuring prescription services for 55,000 beneficiaries. As interim flight commander, she led a 16 person team and oversaw a $35 million, 550 personnel program. Ms. Young's resourcefulness and mentorship were pivotal to the group's success. She is also highly involved in animal welfare initiatives through her community by educating AKC policies and raising $80,000 for canine awareness. In addition, she helped reinforce responsible humane ownership as an animal welfare webmaster.
