Tinker has it's very own recovery care coordinator who is responsible for helping the total force -- active duty, Guard and Reserve -- when they are wounded, ill or injured.

John Wood, a retired command chief master sergeant, says that base leadership has been extremely supportive of the Wounded Warrior program here.

"I work closely with family liaison officers, patient liaison officers, medical case managers, squadron leadership and a host of support agencies to ensure the right level of support and entitlements are delivered to recovering Airmen and eligible family members," Mr. Wood said.

Mr. Wood does this through the comprehensive recovery plan, where he assists the member through recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration into their military career or life as a veteran.

"Team Tinker has jumped onboard this program and provided world-class support," he said.
